By introducing extra dimensions of product heterogeneity, the framework also provides richer models of firm location.Discrete Choice Theory of Product Differentiation introduces students and researchers to the field, starting at the beginning and moving through to frontier research. The first four chapters detail the consumer-theoretic foundations underlying choice probability systems (including an overview of the main models used in the psychological theory of choice), while the next four chapters apply the probabilistic choice approach to oligopoly models of product differentiation, product selection, and location choice. Discrete choice theory originated in travel demand studies in the early sixties. Since then, the power of this approach has been recognized and it has been elaborated as a theoretical and empirical tool for studying urban economies and housing markets. In this book, Anderson, de Palma and Thisse take another step whcih is crucial in realizing the full value of discrete choice theory: they show how this approach can be used to study almost all important aspects of a market with differentiated products. Their contribution is important in that it links discrete choice theory with the theory of industrial organization.

So Glad I Found This Series

My efforts to reteach myself to play the piano had kind of stalled but ALFRED'S BASIC ADULT PIANO COURSE has put me back in gear. I kind of dithered between starting with level 2 or level 3 and though the first few pieces in level 2 were very easy for me I soon found I really did need the review offered in level 2 and a quick scan of level 3 shows me I would have soon become frustrated with it without going through this book first. A tuneful selection of folk, jazz ragtime and classical music make up most of the coursework and there is a lot of emphasis on chords and fingering - skills I missed in my piano lesson days of long ago. The book is bound with a sturdy plastic "comb" good for me as I am notoriously hard on piano music. There are pen and paper exercises to review notes and chords as well as lots of beautiful music pieces. If you are faithful in practicing this series will teach you a great deal about the piano and keep you motivated to continue.

Excellent series of books

See my review of the Level One book. This series of adult books is excellent and is very reasonably priced. I can't say enough good about the books. Some folks complain that the music used in these texts is not classical. Well, for me, classical music was what drove me away from the piano in the first place when I was a young kid. I wanted to learn to play the popular music I was hearing on the radio. Now as a senior I can chose my own music: classical, popular, rock, jazz, spiritual, and more. I'm learning to play the piano and that is a huge thrill for me. Evenings I study the book, figure out the count and mark the drill and practice pieces with it, and make notations on the music where I feel the need, then the next afternoon, I sit down at the piano and practice. It feels wonderfully gratifying to make music myself again.

My teacher fell in love with this book series.

Let me start by saying that I am a 24 years old and a really young piano student (barely 4months as I am writing this review).

A friend brought me the first book of Afred's series as a gift when he came back from UK while I had already started working on another book with my teacher.

When I received the first book I showed it immediately to my teacher, she studied it for a few days and asked me to order the other books of the series, because we are going to work on them.

Now I am almost done with the first series (NOT Afred's series. Remember I was already working on another book until i received the first Afred's book) and I am studying Afred's first at the same time. I have to say that Afred's is way above my current one, because it has A LOT well-known songs, the transaction from one technique to another is smoother while making sure that you go from the easier techniques to the most difficult, it has exercises and explanations before you "go on stage" so you know what you are about to face.

Overall, 5/5 from me.

About the Author
Leonard Ravenhill was born in 1907 in the city of Leeds, in Yorkshire, England. After his conversion to Christ, he was trained for the ministry at Cliff College. It soon became evident that evangelism was his forte, and he engaged it with both vigor and power. Eventually he became one of England's foremost outdoor evangelists. His meetings in the war years drew traffic jamming crowds in Britain, and great numbers of his converts not only followed the Savior into the Kingdom, but into Christian ministry and the world's mission fields.

In 1939 he married an Irish nurse named Martha. Together they had three sons. Paul and David are ministers, and Philip is a teacher. Leonard went home to be with the Lord in November of 1994.

Leonard Ravenhill is a voice like Jeremiah or John the Baptist that must be heard. Every Pastor, Preacher, Teacher and Christian would benefit greatly from the writings and sermons of this truly anointed man.

In a generation of false prophets and false teachers his words are a rallying cry that is desperately needed.
