I'm ordering a copy to share. My book was printed in 1913 so I'm not lending it to anyone. It is the most fascinating and horrifying book I've read. It was first published in 1881 and is a blow-by-blow history of the Jews from the destruction of Jerusalem by Babylon to it's rebuilding and destruction by Rome in 70AD. I knew that Josephus wrote some history of the Jews but didn't know his own history until I read this book. I've just finished reading about the factions involved in the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD and I feel like sobbing over how greed and cruelty combined to cause the deaths of more than 130,000 people. I can see in the narrative the wars of today and tomorrow.
